A Day With The Zoo

I thought I'd lay out what a normal day with my zoo looks like. I get up when ever I need to get upfor school. Some time later than I really should

I share s twin bed with my dog and the cat. We get up and head out. They both follow me outside or I put the dog out if I'm short on time. Then, I tell whoever is near by to let him in.  If I have time however I head up the hill to the rabbit barn to get on top of chores. I have to hit the horse on and hurry up the hill to keep things form flooding.

(Taken by me January)

I added three more cages at the start of this year. I measured out there 1/4 of a cup of feed and some hay. Then I fill up waters.  If I'm lucky I don't have too do all of them at one time.  They where free feed but they where over weight for there breed." Senior Bucks and Does--6 months  of age & over, weight not over 4 pounds"(Larindry's Bunny Barn, Unknown,  Breed Info). My rabbits came in over that by just a mere few ounces. If the weather is nice I leave the barn door open for the day. On Saturdays I clean out the cages.

Then I fill the ducks water and food. They are all living together for a little longer. They do this in the winter or when space is low. They will be broke into a trio and a pair in a few weeks for breeding season. I might being be getting a few more in a couple weeks. Since they will be ducklings they aren't going to be going out with the flock just yet. They  most likely will be buddies for Patriot the smallest duck.

(Taken by me before the move, my coop)

After they get there breakfast I head back down the house. I take care of my buck rabbit that lives in a hutch my the house. I give him extra love and head inside.
(Taken by me, The Think Tank)

I have breakfast and head off for the day. I go to class then I come home. I put the dog out. Then when he comes in we have a snack and do homework. Then I close the barn as needed. Some nights we do stuff. Mondays and some Tuesdays I go to 4-h. Then dinner and bed.

Back On The Ranch

So in my last post I mentioned that I had more animals that didn't live with me anymore. They stayed behind on my parents ranch.

First up is my miniature horse Cupcake. Her registerd name is Smallworld Trudy.  She stands at a only 34 inches high. She was a birthday gift for my birthday 5 almost 6 years ago. I had been begging for a mini. I'm pretty sure she had been asking for her own human too. She is twenty something years old. She does a number of tricks, is a master at in hand trail, and making me laugh.  She and I love to go for walks when I'm at home.  She loves PJ sandwiches and granola bars.  She will do an anything for food.Cupcake is a huge fan of kids. She went to fair this past year as my solo horse. It was blast. Holly Haddenham [My mom] tells me all the time, "She misses you." (Haddenham, H. personal communication,2018. ), I miss my girl so much and would do anything to have her on this side of the mountains with me. "Heart horses are once-in-a-lifetime matches that feel as if they were made just for us. " (Cerulli, 2016,para. 2). Cupcake is one of those special matches for me.

(Taken by me two summers ago)

My other horses is Cody . He is a paint gelding with a health dose of thoroughbred blood through in there. I've known him since he was a yearling when a friend bought him. However he didn't come to live with us for a long time after that. First she moved and left him the care of family. They starved him (I guess they didn't know how to take care off a horse). This treatment ruined his once amazing mane. She called us up on day and told us to go get him. So we did.  He went off to training then put friend had him for the summer. Tragedy struck when my gelding had to be retired form showing, my choices where my mom's horse while we tried to sell him or him. I wasn't going to get a new horse through if I didn't ride him. So Cody and I embarked on our great adventure. We have chased things, jumped and rode miles of trail. He is a endurance horse at heart. He and I haven't been working together as hard as we should have the past few years. He can be a tick bit on the interesting side under saddle.
(Taken by me,2014)

They also have care of some of my older rabbits. They are my polish  They are Sweetbairs Ace aka Pepper and Agua Mist or Agua. Agua is mom to my polish I have with me here.
(Taken by me, Pepper)
(Taken by me two summers ago, Misty)

Sadly one of them has passed away, my English lop rabbit. This  monster was nicknamed Kodiak.  his formal name was Kathy's Scamp. He was one of my good friends first English lops. His legacy will remain in her barn and in the hearts of those that know this loveable guy. He was old for his breed and lived an amazing life. I will always love him.

Last but not least is my Belgian Sheepdog Coco. Coco was christened Backwood's Belgian Chocolate. The lone single in a long awaited litter. The last daughter of her sire and the first of her dam (Mom). Her half siblings are her closest friends. This solo pup won over our family but more than anything she  won over me. She and I had many great adventures. She is a hyper active ball of love.

That's all of my animals there but they have there vary own zoo.

ZOO Anyone

My house is a zoo. I moved in with my aunts and grandma this fall and brought along my creatures. We were joined by more of course.  Today I thought I'd introduce  my crew (That lives with me) and give a short bio on each one.
For Christmas my parents bought us two goats. Ivy(cream colored ) and Blackberry(Black headed). They are Nigerian Dwarf goats. They are three years old. They are due to have kids in March. They are huge sweet hearts.
(Taken By Me Snohomish WA)

Next is my partner in crime, Boulder. He is a 12 year old  Australian Cattle Dog x Border Collie. His name is short for Boulder Pass Dog after the mountain pass he was rescued form as a 4 week old puppy by a close friend of my family. My dad saw him and brought him home to be my dog. We have done 4-h ever since. This will be our final year. These days what ever I'm up too, be it trips to herd things or just hanging out, he is always close by. He has a adapted to being a house dog in style.

(Taken by me)

Next up is my cat. My wild child. A fourth generation Haddenham farm cat.  I named him Monkey because as baby he looked like a howler monkey. His birthday is in May. he went to fair last year in September. He has grown up a ton since then into a sleek panther.

(Taken by me, my room)
"Nice! I think you are a rabbit collector."(Thon A., personal communication, December 4, 2017). I raise Holland Lop rabbits and was taking about needing to get another rabbit for my breeding program.  I have five rabbits at this time, 4 Hollands and a Polish. My Hollands are all named after Ed Sheeran songs.

First is my buck named after "Thinking Out Loud" with the lyrics of "I'm thinking out loud that maybe we found love right where we are."(Ed Sheeran, 2014) in mind.  He is formally known as  Echo's Thinking Out Loud. We just call him Thinker. He is a broken orange and white. He is only 6 months old.  I brought him home at 4 months old

Next I have my oldest rabbit, my five year old doe. Formally her name is MHR's Nami but around  here she is Nina.  She is a blue otter. She was my first Holland Lop. Before we lived here with my grandma, she lived in my room. her daughters are my other two does.
My final two does are Echo's Little Bird (Littles)and  Echo's Nightmare (Nightmare).  They are a year old. Their dad is Blue Storm Ashes ,my original buck, they are his spiting image. After his loss early last year I made the choice to keep both of them. When they where first born I said there was a tiny black one in the box and it was my keeper. The name Littles stuck form then on.  I hope that I can persevere Ashes Legacy in my barn.

My final rabbit is a polish, her name is Echo's Sierra Mist but I just call her Misty. She is a broken black and white. Besides being an awesome barn mascot she is a rock star on the show table. She is also the most cuddly rabbit in my barn.

I have five Call Ducks, they are a bantam breed. It started with 4 a few years ago.  Two of those birds are still a part of my flock. Those four where the artists. The most I've had at any time is six. Picasso is  one of my original drakes. He is a snowy that means he looks like a wild mallard with white added to his chest. Casset or Cas  or Cassie or Little Hen is one of my first hens. She is brown and white, she gets whiter with every year. Painter, is a three year old brown and white hen, her parents are Picasso and Byrd (Original hen). Miracles is a two year old black and white son of Picasso and Casset. Patriot is a blue fawn daughter of Painter and Leonardo (my other original male).
(Taken by me, January 15th, Ducks in the sun)

We have  two texal Guinea pigs. They are brothers. Bam Bam or Ban is the solid black one. Pebbles is the one with the white. We throught it would be fun to have a pebble since we have a Boulder.
(Taken by me, pigs having a snack)

Not pictured that live here are my aunts dog and my grandma's cat. I also have some animals back home. They will have there own post.

The Weather Has Final Cooled

Hello Good People.. The weather and my busyness has kept me away form blogging. I wrote a monster of a paper too.... The last few days have been so hot. I was so happy when I woke up and saw cloudy weather. The new colt and Perfect will like that.  We really need to get the new colt named so I can stop calling him baby boy or baby colt.. He is so cute.. My newest baby duck and his pheasant siblings are doing awsome. The baby duck is Miracles after all he had a ruff start. His hatch was delayed by the power outage the day he was due too hatch. Hints the name Miracles was vary fitting for the little guy. Will bye for now.

Rainy Day Thinking And Now I'm Dry.

Hi World... It's me your friendly neighborhood Echo, sort of like Spider-Man only writerish and animal loverish Way cooler than any hero not Batman he is so much better than me. I have a lot of friends that love Batman and I really love him. Now for a recap of my awsome but cold and wet weekend.
Friday I woke up in full show and travel mode. Will the Captian of the adventure still had to work in Spokane and I still had to go off to school.. About ten I started to I get a little worried. We were appearing to be leaving at a good time... We were already running late. By after school I was freaking out... She still in Spokane at 2...That's a three hour drive.. And we had a border to cross...5 comes and  she arrives... We figure out out we aren't fitting in her car... She washes her dog and we move stuff to our car. Then we leave. Stops in Tonsket put us into Osyoo's by 8.....Late way late.. Think fully we had easy border crossing. Or this would have been awful.
We end up at a store searching for dog food and breakfast... Here's were we figured out we went the wrong way.. The midway border way was much fast to the end of Kelwona we need to be on. Oh will send an email about us arriving late.. This whole Canada and no phone thing was going to be getting old fast. We finally got back out on the road. We drove on and finally reached Kelwona by 10. The another hour of driving placed us, Pained and Believing we were lost, at Heartland ranch our home for the weekend. Pouring rain and nasty this was the start of the three day long battle with the stormy weather.. Thankfully a nice lady waited up for us.. This first tent set up was bad. half the floor space wasn't there.
The next morning we got up and got ready. This incoulded me hiding in the tent with the dog so he wouldn't get wet will mom and Coleen were off finding Jordan. Then they can back and I got dressed to handle for Jordan. Then we went over and met up with Jordan. We got the dog's ready. I met Pipper for the first time. Maddie and I got to know each other a little bit more. I also got to say hi to my buddies Tala and Fidji.I go to met Coleen's dog's half-brother Rio as will. The we showed for the day.
First Coleen with Phoenix they looked awsome. Then Rio and his handler showed. The they went against eachother. Sadly Rio won that.My mom went  with Pipper...It wasn't pretty. It was Pipper's
first show. the rain was still falling and the missable cold was great. Then I handled Maddie. We looked awsome and everyone was happy with how good she showed for me. We then had to show agia nest my mom and her fearfully friend. We won and had to go back in for breed. The trouble with that is I was suppose to handle Tala. We had figured Pipper would beat Maddie. She then we had a number dog handler mix up. My mom ended up with Tala's number and taking her into the ring. Jordan and Fidji won breed. They sadly didn't end up places get in group they looked so awsome however.
The End For Now

Flooded.... In A Sense

The morning is one of those sigh take a deep breath relax remember that it's all going to be okay mornings. That being in love is harder than anything else in the world but worth it. Second chances are worth everything. So for all that good in the world take them...I guess it's all for the best in this quest that is life.
My weekend was long and a little stressful. Okay a lot a bit stress full.. Let's start form the first part of the weekend. Friday, I ended up laying on the floor. Typing back and forth with a number of friends. Two different conversations with him at the same time. It's been normal for the whole time I've known him. 400 and something days.
Mom called me to go ride with them. I said I didn't really want to but then I said I would talk in three or four hours and left my room. I tacked up the horse.. He did walk away once. I forget to tie him. And my dads spooked and pulled back once. Then we started off one atampet at rearing. I avoided that easily becuase it's pretty normal. Then we rode on tell we were almost to the Y..... Here's were this gets crazy. Our Sasha went after the range cows.. This lead to my next great event. Once second my horse was on the road. The next second we were up the bank. I jumped off and leads him down and around the corner. Then back on my horse we started down the trail.
This is were the story has a good event. We took our first trot of a training level. Then we crossed the creek, low for this time of the year. Water has always been hard for Cody. He made a pretty good cross for the first one of the year. then we went to trot up the hill. he full out bucked. Hyper or upset I don't know. he never bucks I was pretty werided out by that.. Now we think my saddle may not be fitting right. I stayed on by doing the rein turning trick. then we trotted on up the hill. Then we waited for mom at the top. Then we weaved around the newly messed up top space. Then down the hill. then back to trotting. Not a fast endurance horse speed but a lazy out of shape horse speed. Then I got to lead on the next part of walking.. Then we took pound loop. We picked up a Trot across the places were we do normally. that hadn't been the plan but we did it becuase of the dog. We walked so mom's horse could rest. Then we hit the hill. Before that we noticed by saddle was loss...
I'll pick this up later.

Make It Rain

Good afternoon. Another rainy nasty cold wet missable day. We went out for a walk about in my fist period class. Up the hill to collect Lichen.. To  the cemetery.. That's always sort of fun. We looked at plants. We soaked our shoes and socks.. I've spent most of the day bare foot now. Since it hurts to have a wet sock on a hurt foot My foot hurts so bad.. The wound is bad.
Little Purfect is so cute. I've spent a lot of time just watching her.Even just sleeping so is so cute. She also runs and frolics around. It makes me happy.
This weekend is the Great Dog Caper. I can't wait to see my friends. they will be so happy to see me too. We get to work hard but also have a lot of fun. That means I get to bath my dog. he happens to hate bathes a lot... That means I get to put on shorts and try my best to not get too wet.. Chances are I will get soaked by him anyway. Once he is all clean he will jump on the bed and soak my blankets. Leading to a need to wash them agian. It's his bed not mine. I mine a least that's how he and I see it. Since he countols were I sleep every night.
Have A Good Day
